If you’re NOT familiar with me or my offer, here’s some background on what I’m offering . . .

Now, I don’t want to come across as if I think *I’M* on the level of Einstein. I’ve got a LONG way to go to get there. I barely made it through high school algebra, let alone be able to write a complex math equation!

But just for a few examples, here are some Testimonials about my ideas, work, and teaching:

“Application of these Teachings will take Yoga to new heights in the Western World. The DSL Method [of yoga] makes profound sense.”

Lesli Hunter
Yoga Teacher & Student
Sedona, Arizona

“I read David Scott Lynn’s e-book which I highly recommend for every Massage Therapist [and Yoga Teacher] and I was amazed at how intricately he delves into and emphasizes, over and over from various angles, how our work mostly works to affect the Nervous System in a variety of ways. … He explains nervous system and myofascial relationships brilliantly!”

Doctor Michael Koplen
Chiropractor & Former Massage Therapist
Capitola, California

Here are a few more:

“You did for me in 4 hours what physiotherapy couldn’t do in 4 years. And, you gave me the tools to continue working on my own.”

Michelle Sands
Yoga Teacher
Montreal, Quebec

“Having had experience with many different bodyworkers, David’s technique is certainly unique. There are levels of healing he achieves I’ve never seen before. This is clearly a result of a vast knowledge of anatomy and physiology combined with decades of hands-on experience.”

Dr. John Bordiuk
Nutritionally Oriented M.D. & Yoga Teacher
Inner Balance Med
Wellesley, MA (Greater Boston Area)

“I have worked with many soft tissue therapists over the years. David Scott Lynn is the only one educated and skilled enough to do what I want with full confidence that the job will be done. My patients definitely feel the difference.”

Gary Fujinami
Doctor of Chiropractic & Martial Artist
East West Chiropractic & Acupuncture Center
Prescott, Arizona

“David Scott Lynn is a bodyworker extraordinaire. His knowledge of the structure of the body and the way the muscles cooperate with each other in their movement has prompted us to put him on our faculty as the anatomy professor in our Yoga Teacher Training Program. His work is state of the art and goes way beyond most traditional understanding of how the physical body operates. His patience and genius in working on me has changed my awareness of myself. His work is lasting and his selflessness is amazing.”

Gary Majchrzak • Co-Director
7 Centers Yoga Arts
Sedona, Arizona
[Gary is no longer a Director,
nor do I teach, at 7 Centers]

“With 18 years experience in the health care professions, I appreciate soundly re-searched & scientifically based approaches to rehabilitation. The DSL Method of BodyWork [and Yoga] has expanded and refined my understanding and applications for achieving postural correctness and pain relief in less time. David has a unique way of reiterating known fundamental laws, redefining erroneous concepts, and instructing the participants through a successful treatment program.”

Al Cujas
Physical Therapist
A.T.C., N.M.T., Former NMT Instructor

 So What’s More Important?
Imagination & Creativity?
Or Scientific Knowledge?

Yes, Einstein said “IMAGINATION is more important than knowledge.”

Yet his imaginings and new ideas were VERY WELL informed by and grounded in his vast and deep scientific knowledge. He knew all his theories had to closely fit the known sciences as best as possible. …

He needed BOTH Facts AND Imagination to be a Leading Edge Thinker in Physics.

Just like in Yoga. … IF you want Maximum Results with Minimum Injury …

As a Yoga Practitioner, your Creativity, and your “Kinesthetic Imagination & Sensitivity,” is Unleashed & Released. And as a yoga teacher / therapist, or a serious lay-practitioner, I’m sure you want to produce Maximum Results for yourself — and your students — while keeping everyone (including yourself!) SAFE from yoga & exercise related injuries.

And Yes, the same scientific principles of yoga apply to many or ALL forms of exercise.

Just That Fact Alone allows You to become a valuable resource for other exercise & health care professionals in your region.

Yet your yoga practice (and teaching) has certain principles best performed if you stick with the relevant sciences behind them. Yet too many people in the yoga world don’t know those sciences.

IN FACT, I often speak with doctors and therapists who don’t know these important facts either. Or maybe they forgot them after medical or therapy school because no one showed them the relevant connections between the sciences and their practice.

It is MY JOB to show YOU the relevant sciences and make them VERY important to your practice and teaching. …

SO relevant that You will NOT forget them!

Knowing the medical and physical sciences behind the principles & practices of modern postural yoga, and how and why yoga works, can only help YOU become a better practitioner, teacher or therapist.

Some of those Principles are:

  • Why NO Pain means MORE Gain.
  • You’ve heard about “Playing The Edge” of pain. But what exactly IS that?
  • How do you best work with The Edge? There’s MUCH more to it that most realize.
  • You’ve heard about “stretching the fascia” as if it was separate from the muscles. But is that a TRUE and realistic distinction?
  • And can fascia, by it’s self, significantly and directly affect posture?
  • You’ve heard about “decompressing” the joints, nerves and other tissues. But HOW does compression happen in the first place? And HOW do you work with it?
  • You’ve heard about “strengthening the CORE,” but what, exactly is the “CORE,” and how do you REALLY “work with” the CORE from a postural yoga perspective?
  • You know that yoga improves posture, but how does that REALLY happen? And how do you maximize it? … Posture is NOT about “strengthening your muscles.”
  • You’ve heard that “Proper Posture Alignment” protects the body from yoga injury. But how does that work, REALLY? … And is it TRUE?
  • You’ve heard about “Body Mind Integration,” Mindfulness, and Meditation via yoga? But how does that REALLY work, and how do you achieve and maximize it?
  • “They” talk about how yoga benefits you in so many ways. But how does all that REALLY work? How does it happen? And how do you maximize it?

Knowing How The System Works …
Tells You How To Work It

There are many other elements of yoga most people know little or nothing about. … But I don’t want to drag this message out more than necessary. So I’ll stop there on making that list.

Yet frankly, I don’t see enough of the Relevant Sciences being taught, nor made Truly Relevant to the Principles of Practice of Yoga & Yoga Therapy. With a few exceptions, understanding how all this works is beyond most people’s knowledge and understanding.

Yet the knowledge IS out there, if you know where to look. … And it IS valuable, IF you apply it.

(And Yes, over the last 30 plus years, I’ve spent countless hours researching this stuff in medical libraries from Harvard in Boston to the CDC in Atlanta, and, of course, the internet. … ALL of which was funded out of my own pocket, by-the-way.)

ENHANCING MODERN POSTURAL YOGA with
MEDICAL & “PSYCHO-NEURO-MUSCULO-FASCIAL”
SCIENCES, PHYSICAL SCIENCES, and
MEDITATIVE MINDFULNESS

Now, along with martial arts, I started doing Zen-style meditation 48 years ago, when I was only 13 years old. I started doing yoga 42 years ago. I started teaching yoga in 1976, and became a hands-on bodyworker in 1981. I soon specialized in people with long-term, complex therapeutic cases, whom in most cases, I was successfully able to help significantly.

As Dr. John Bordiuk said in his Testimonial above:

“There are levels of healing he achieves I’ve never seen before.”

(BTW, Dr. Bordiuk was a Yoga Teacher before he went to medical school. He became one of the most clinically successful doctors in the Northeast using mostly natural and nutritional means. ~DSL)

By the end of the 1980s, several of my Clients & Students were presidents and executive board members of the American Massage Therapy Association and several influential massage schools. My yoga teaching at the time consisted mostly of teaching bodyworkers how to apply physical & mental yoga principles in their therapeutic practices and for their own self care.

My hands-on, structural bodywork system was directly based on principles of Physical, Mental & Relational Yoga as taught by Joel Kramer, whom I’lll mention more of in a minute.

I soon became pretty well known in the massage industry for both my therapeutic and teaching skills. (I was also teaching yoga and yoga therapy to massage therapists to use in their practices and self care.)

Here is Kyle C. Wright, founder of the Southeastern Schools of Neuromuscular Therapy and the Schools of Advanced Bodywork. His schools trained over ten thousand massage & bodywork therapists over a couple of decades. His curriculum included these yoga-based principles, which he used as the foundation for the training at his schools … and learned from yours truly:

“Through my years of experience in clinical practice and taking over 100 seminars in bodywork, I have found The DSL Method to be the missing link toward a greater understanding of human physiology and chronic reflex pain patterns. I endorse and highly recommend taking a course in The DSL Method.”

Director of North Carolina School
of Advanced Bodywork
Asheville, North Carolina

STUDYING WITH THE
FATHER OF AMERICAN YOGA

I believe much of my success in treating people was from applying Joel Kramer’s pioneering yoga principles & techniques to the hands-on bodywork process. Joel published a series of ground-breaking articles in Yoga Journal many years ago. He took integration of physical yoga with mental yoga, as well as how to physically work in the postures, to new levels of depth and breadth. He described certain physical principles of yoga postures not well known at the time, if at all.

Even Jiddu Krishnamurti, who studied hatha yoga with teachers like Iyengar and Desikachar, and was a world class jnana (mental) yogi, did not appear to have made any strong connections between mindfulness and physical, postural yoga the way Joel did and taught. He practiced them mostly as a physical exercise.

Joel’s mental AND physical yoga was heavily influenced by Krishnamurti’s mental yoga. Yet Joel took it all to a deeper, more personal and intuitive level. His ideas of observing the structure of mind is truly mind-opening.

And Joel’s way of using the physical body to explore the mind was different than most of what was taught in yoga, even from Indian Masters, till Joel began teaching in America.

I spent one solid month at a full time, residential yoga intensive with Joel and his partner, Diana Alstad, in 1976. Immediately after, I quit my job as a structural steel ironworker foreman and started looking for yoga students.

I also worked with Eugene Donaldson, a bodyworker whom I met when I was living in Aspen, Colorado. He went on to become co-founder of Educating Hands, an influential massage therapy school in Miami, Florida. My basic muscle release technique was directly inspired by Eugene’s work with me.

In 1982, I was in a 250 hour program with Daniel Blake, a direct student of Ida P. Rolf (of Rolfing® and Structural Integration fame). With Daniel, I learned a unique form of postural analysis allowing me to successfully track down many of the causes of people’s neuromuscular, myofascial, and musculoskeletal afflictions.

And that bodyworker’s approach is directly applicable to the Therapeutic, Postural Yoga Process, as well.

And in the 1980, I had the good fortune to work with a number of “alternative” medical doctors, osteopaths, chiropractors, and researchers who were ground-breaking in their health care studies and practices.

Putting It All Together

With all those inputs, it was my refinement and modification of Eugene’s and Daniel’s basic techniques, and working with chiropractors and osteopaths, that led me to see and understand things about the structure and function of the human bodymind that not too many yoga or bodywork practitioners know or have experienced.

Taking Joel Kramer’s approach to physical & mental yoga, and integrating the principles with what I learned about structural (and other forms of) bodywork from people like Eugene and Daniel, and vast amounts of studying medical & physical sciences and philosophies, I developed a unique, very successful system of yoga & bodywork therapeutics.

Your Access to TECHNICAL MANUALS on
PHYSICAL / MENTAL & THERAPEUTIC YOGA
and the RELEVANT SCIENCES

So starting with Joel’s and Eugene’s work, I’ve spent most of my life developing science-based principles for physical / mental yoga & postural yoga therapy. And my system of yoga-based, hands-on bodywork is based solidly on the same principles, leading me to call my hands-on bodywork system “an externally applied form of yoga.”

It was that extensive clinical experience — actually FEELING what was going on in the muscles & fascia of my Clients with my hands — that greatly expanded my understandings of the intricacies and possibilities of Postural Yoga.

Over the course of several years, I’ve written a bunch of books about it all, too, not to mention a lot of articles, diagrams and even some mind-maps and infographics.

This Is Your Opportunity to Begin Learning
& Applying Much of My Knowledge, Skills,
& Insights into Practicing & Teaching Yoga

BUT I NEED YOUR HELP …
and will REWARD You for it, too.

You see, I didn’t realize how much harder it was to MARKET books than to write them!

But I eventually took the advice of some “business gurus” who said to NOT focus on what your’e NOT good at, and find other people to do these things.

Sounds good on the surface. … So rather than focus on marketing & editing, I just kept writing more books! I figured I’d eventually find someone who could do the editing and marketing stuff for me.

But so far, that person never showed up. And I ran through all my resources trying to get “positioned” so that when I found that person, they’d have plenty to work with.

I ended up with (at present) 10 or so e-books, depending on how I divide them up. (I’ve also got a couple thousand pages of material in my websites and hard drives waiting to be published, but that’s another story!)

SO … I ran out of resources working on all that stuff. Focused mostly on the research and writing, that’s nearly all I did for a few years. The texts are mostly written, but need final editing, updating, and formatting, then marketing.

Front cover for Simple Steps to Let-Go Yoga e-bookOne of the e-books, a Technical Manual on postural yoga principles, including many mental aspects, is currently for sale on my website right now. It’s titled:

Simple Steps To Let-Go Yoga:
& Neuro-Structural Sciences of
Physical/Mental & Therapeutic Yoga

Here’s a link to a description of it:

AND … I’ve got FIVE other e-Books manuscripts on different yoga-related topics, including:

  • 12 Principles of Maximum Results & Minimum Injury in Yoga
  • BodyMind Breakdowns (what goes wrong for many conditions)
  • Yoga Injury Prevention (an e-book and a video presentation)
  • An 80 page essay on Psoas Muscle & the CORE
  • Tendinitis & RSI (their causes & how to resolve)

(I have a few other e-books geared more for hands-on bodyworkers I’ll be offering on a different webpage.)

So I’ve got a large number of science-based principles I believe will help you immensely in your understandings and practice of

Modern Postural Yoga and Yoga Therapy.

SO HERE’S MY SUPER-DUPER OFFER for YOU:

If you purchase the Simple Steps to Let-Go Yoga for its regular price of a couple of yoga lessons ($27) I’ll ALSO send you ALL the FIVE e-books listed above, in their current, SEMI-edited manuscript form.

And Remember that two yoga lessons ( the average price is around $15 per class, last time I checked) last you an hour or two each, plus some. But the knowledge in my e-books will last you a lifetime.

You’ll Receive the FIVE Semi-edited e-Books as a Bonus for buying the main e-book, which you’ll immediately receive a download link for.

Within 24 hours, I’ll send the FIVE Bonus e-Books to the e-mail you use when you purchase the Simple Steps to Let-Go Yoga e-book.

They need a lot of work for final publication, mostly updating, editing, and formatting, but their MAIN CONTENT, which is already written, is what’s important.

And you will learn a LOT from the already existing content of these e-books. And when I get them Final Edited, I’ll resend you the finished e-Books, NO extra charge.

(Remember, these are e-Books to read on your computer or iPad … or you can print them out if you’ve got access to a printer.)

The actual, FINAL CONTENT will be very similar, much of it identical, but probably with a lot of added illustrations and some re-organization and updating. I’m always rethinking and further researching everything, and I’ve got some new stuff to integrate into the publications.

I’m also planning to keep a record of what changes I make, as well, so you don’t have to read them all over again if I add a lot of content. You’ll just refer to the page numbers that were modified.

MY PROMISE is that you’ll be a FAR more knowledgeable and effective Yoga Practitioner, Teacher and/or Therapist.

If you’re a Massage / Bodywork Therapist, you will be able to apply yoga therapy to your practice, as well.

Your yoga students & clients will be impressed by how much more you know about how it all works than most teachers and therapists.

MONEY BACK GUARANTEE: If, after 60 days, you don’t think they were worth your investment of $27, just send me via e-mail an explanation as to what you didn’t like or thought was wrong with them. I’ll refund your money.

You’ll be helping me improve my products, and you’ll get your money back.

While I doubt many people will take undue advantage of that offer, I think it’s only fair that you actually read them enough to know whether they were up to your expectations, or not.

FINALLY, because of the dynamic nature of my work, research, & teaching, I’ve been considering moving all my writings into a Private Membership Training & Coaching E-Course on my website. If I do that, I might pull the e-books off the market all together.

This offer will be good till I make approximately 100 sales, then the Special Price will be gone. That should be enough to get the project far enough along.
